Twenty-nine of the property projects, or 64.4% of the total, are located in Beijing's eight major districts. Fifteen of the 20 projects in Chaoyang District are small and medium-sized apartment projects, and five are high-end villa projects whose units each have a floor area of more than 500 square meters.
As of Jun. 21 this year, Beijing had sold 8,013 units totaling 910,000 sq m in unfinished apartment projects and 1, 973 units totaling 287,000 sq m in completed apartment projects.
Reportedly, Beijing's second-hand property transaction volume had already exceeded 60,000 units as of Jun. 20, whereas the volume for all of 2008 was only about 70,000 units.
In the first half of this year, Beijing saw a year-on-year transaction volume decline of 3% in the property leasing market, and the average leasing price for apartments in the city was RMB 2,300 per unit a month. During the same period, the average leasing price was RMB 2,550 per unit a month in Chaoyang District, RMB 2,400 in Haidian District, RMB 2,420 in Fengtai District and RMB 2,200 in Changping District, sources reported.
